Wordpress 2.0

December 29th, 2005

Wow, well that was a short release candidate stage. For those of you who don’t already know, everyone’s favourite semantic blog publishing platform, Wordpress has hit version 2. With that they have also changed their website’s design, rather disappointingly I think as I liked their old serif-oriented look. Actually the same can be said for the new blogging GUI, the hard serifs are gone–amalgamated into something more universally palatable with soft smooth edges.

I might have a peek at the code behind it, to see if they can live up to their “code is poetry” footer yet. For now though, I’m going to just see how easy it is to upgrade from 1.5.

I wonder whether and when wordpress.com will upgrade to use 2.0 and if it’ll go smoothly. :)
