Reading a computing magazine in the library and came across a Microsoft advert, not unusual in itself, but the content was a perfect example of some FUD.
When evaluating the TCO of Linux and Windows, Who Gets Newham’s vote?
No prizes for answering that question.
…Migration costs were estimated to be 68%* lower.
However read the small print:
*Migration was from existing Microsoft Systems.
Well no shit Microsoft–what did you expect?

FUD has gotten to the point that it just shits me. Whenever I come across it and I have the chance to convey a message to the person who created it I just like to tell them that whatever they think they know can go down the drain. Most of the buggers haven’t ever read the GNU philosophy pages.
The world if full of fakes. Ranging from so many young, talented people today that claim they are interested in something, but when it comes to something like this they turn into people who want nothing to do with new things. Next, for example, the computer “experts” who wear their flashy suits and ties trying to sell everyone a computer… My goodness they rip off everyone, spread so much crap and when you ask them about hardware which is Linux-friendly they just gape at you. So much for “your computing experts”.
The world is full of fakes…
