What a nice surprise on a cold and frosty morning to see that the latest stable version of everyone’s favourite web browser Mozilla Firefox has been released. Read about what’s new at MozillaZine.
Particularly interested in the native SVG support. Download and install this latest release to have a look at the samples of what you can do. There’s even SVG Tetris! You know you want it…

So 2 open sourced goodies are updated, eh?
Yep, KDE 3.5 was released today too. This means a Konqueror update. Have a look at it’s new features.
I think I’ll keep Konqueror as my prominent browser. So much functionality.
Cheers,
Pascal Klein

That’s weird. Half my post disappeared… =\

Hmm… weird indeed, if it happens again I’ll have to investigate.
I’ve been working on a nice Intel Pro Wireless tutorial, so that’s why I’ve been away.
Cool @ KDE

Why (specificly) is firefox so much better than explorer? My cousins are trying to get me to switch, however I’m stubborn and like to stay in the same field. Is it really such a good switch or it is just a “fad” that’s going around?

Tabbed browsing. Instead of having multiple instances of an application running (waste of memory) you can instead use “tabs” to keep everything in-house as it were.
Better support for standards that help people with disabilities to browse the internet.
Less of a security risk.
I haven’t used Explorer for years now…

That’s honestly quite interesting… though I usually don’t find this stuff interesting often (usually I have a hard time figuring out all those terms and codes), but yha… thanks!!

Just install Firefox and use it for a while. Given a week of usage, you’ll change permanently.
